The man accused of killing former Lunenburg resident Linnea Veinotte has reached a plea agreement in Grenada.

Akim Frank pleaded guilty to the lesser charge of manslaughter.

According to the Director of Public Prosecution Chambers, the lesser charge carries the same maximum sentence as the original non-capitol murder charge.

Veinotte was walking with her dog when she was struck by a vehicle on December 6, 2015 in the country's capital city of St. George.

Frank will be sentenced December 7.

Officials will be conducting a social inquiry report, which is similar to a pre-sentencing report, to be entered along with the statement of facts at that time.
