Now that the $2.5 million dollar pot is gone in Newfoundland's Chase the Ace, those dreaming of hitting it big are turning to Clyde River.
The River Hills Golf and Country Club game has an estimated $515,000 jackpot this weekend with only five cards left in the deck.
Chairperson Lisa O'Connell says they never would've dreamed their fundraiser would make this much.
"We were just hoping to make a couple thousand dollars to improve some of our facilities for our junior development."
She says a meeting will be held to decide how they will use the windfall.
O'Connell is also excited about how much this money will help out the winner.
"Half a million dollars is definitely going to change somebody's lifestyle. It's the most awesome feeling in the world."
The jackpot has been building since June of 2016, taking time out only for snow storms and lobster season.
Tickets are for sale across the community.
The lucky winner will hope to pull the Ace this Saturday at 9:00pm at the River Hills Golf and Country Club.
